about

These are all new ones we have written since we got back from the Bison Pond on the Invisible Planet. We started this project upstairs at Brian Reedy's grandma's house when the songs were much slower and the stairs were far to narrow to safely carry heavy electronics up and down. The two Brians had been playing music up there and Tim found out and came over. We had been working on some new songs when we got contacted about playing a "play or pose" reunion benifit. So we called Steve who had moved back to town to see if he wanted to do the show. After that we decided to make Lonely Trailer a four piece band. Now we are playing at clubs and eating pizza when possible, writing, recording and sometimes trying to figure out how to play old songs that people request. No inflatable aliens were used on these recordings although it might appear that way. Our favorite letter in the alphabet is still, you guessed it "H."

Thanks to ... our pal Bob Kimbell for driving over the mountain to Utah to snag the cool Vox Continental organ that Brian Robertson is using, Carlin Reed who has set us up with shows in Chicago and revitalized us with his enthusiasm and great friendship, Brian Reedy's dad Jim (the Muffin Man) for his support and Rockabilly Freedom Banana Bread, Parasol Records for it's warehouse that stores our old recordings and for starting this bandcamp page, all the cool bands we get to share dates with, the crazy clubs that let us in, the brave new breed of sound board operators, (to be explained later), Elmer and his glue, and to you, whoever you are.

about

Lonely Trailer Urbana, Illinois

Lonely Trailer are great storytellers and they've been telling weird stories for 25 years. Their songs are loaded with harmonies, off-kilter lyrics, and unexpected hooks. Their sound has been compared to the Minutemen, Captain Beefheart, XTC, and the Beach Boys. The band still plays shows frequently in and around Champaign-Urbana, IL. ... more
